Over its 40 years of existence, the Tuira Chamber Choir program has consisted of music of many different periods, styles and directions in both domestic and foreign choir music. In addition to traditional chamber choir music, our choir has presented several orchestral compositions in cooperation with, e.g., the Oulu City Orchestra or currently, the Oulu Symphony (e.g., Mozart's Requiem and Haydn's Creation) as well as with the Oulu Conservatory and the local military band (Hildas' Requiem). Since the year 1990, our choir has collaborated annually with the Oulu Opera in the city theater of Oulu, presenting operas, the most recent being Mascagni: Cavalleria rusticana in 2011.

Cooperation with the Oulu parish has continued for a long time and we have had several presentions in the events of the parish. Our choir has also arranged church concerts, e.g., Rossini's Petite Messe Solennelle, in the original version for soloist, choir, two pianos and harmonium, and also Dvorak's Mass in D major and Janacek's Mass in E flat major, both for soloist, choir and organ.

In addition to our local concert tours, our choir has made several concert journeys to foreign countries (e.g., CanadaJapanMexico and Switzerland). In our choir, there are currently about 60 singers, aged 20 to 66.
